San Diego Leagues' Water Interest Group
Meets on Tuesday, May 6 at 3:00 on Zoom.
This month we will receive updates on the following matters.
1. Projects underway updates.
a. Federal funding in San Diego County - how much in the past year and what to expect this year. We have joined with the LWVSD’s Sustainability and Environment Action Committee and the joint League Housing and Homelessness Committee to figure out how the areas of interest to all 3 committees will be impacted by federal funding cuts.
b. Water rates are tied to budgets of water suppliers. And planning for the future includes using accurate information to make those plans. We are going to research local water suppliers use of good population and predicted demand for water and then follow up with tracking select water suppliers in San Diego County to understand why water rates are rising.
2. Tijuana River Pollution Crisis - Status of federal action, story of SB 10, local actions.
